Our Company
The most secure computer based testing system just got better.
Server Security
The testing system is IP address restricted – only specific testing workstations are allowed to access the testing system.
The testing system consists of a Web application and a database, each of which is stored on its own dedicated server. The data associated with testing (test taker information, test results, etc.) is isolated from the WWW/Internet; only the testing server is allowed to communicate with the database server:
- The ISP firewall prevents access from the Internet.
- The database server’s firewall prevents database-related communication from any source other than the testing server.
- The testing server must use a unique password to access the database on the database server.
MD5 Login Encryption and SSL Data Transfer encryption are implemented.
No ActiveX or Java Applets are ever employed.
- Test takers use an agency-assigned ID for login, and therefore do not log into the system with any personal information (e.g. name, SSN, driver’s license number).
- A complete history of test taker photos is maintained and organized for easy reference by both Metro staff and state agency staff.
- User information (name, agency ID) in the database can be encrypted.
- The tests are never actually stored on the workstation. The questions are constructed by the server “on the fly” for each testing session – and only after Steps 1 through 4c described above are completed. Results are FTP’ed to the state agency. The state agency’s server is configured to restrict access to only the testing server (by IP address).

internet Computer Based Testing
A Computer-Based Assessment (CBA), also know as Computer-Based Testing (CBT), e-exam, computerized testing and computer-administered testing, is a method of administering tests in which the responses are electronically recorded, assessed, or both. As the name implies, Computer-Based Assessment makes use of a computer or an equivalent electronic device (i.e. handheld computer). CBA systems enables educators and trainers to author, schedule, deliver, and report on surveys, quizzes, tests and exams. Read More
